I'm guessing you don't have a contract with specified pay rates nor are you apart of any union. Now legal matters vary from state to state and I'm not any part of an expert but you should do Two things immediately.

1) Look up a lawyer and seek their council.
2) Start looking for a new job. Odds are your battle, even if your right, will be mighty costly/ time consuming.
