Every company has to have an employee hand bood, that is a must, that states the policy of procedures of the company. In this book you can find from attendance policy, work ethics, sick time, vacation time, and especially regarding harassments of any kind.
I don't know the laws that govern NY, but here in cali, there are procedures to take before suspending an employee. Track record, warnings, insorbronations, and etc.
You should be able to go to Human Resources and speak to them, cuz that are to protect the employees and displine them as well. Since you've been there for 3.5 yrs, you should have accumulated sick time to use for these days. In my own opinion, in April, you called in sick, then Oct. you was 2 hrs late why?, but still the time frame is to far, not like it was weeks after weeks, and for the same offense. Then 1 mth later you came in late due to family emergency, well he probably think that you were lying, bring a note from the doctor or a bill/statement to prove to HR. I don't think that you should be suspend without, cuz even so you could of use your SICK TIME or PERSONAL TIME OFF (PTO), even certain cases your VACATION TIME.
UNLESS THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE YOUR NOT TELLING US.
