If it was my company you would be an ex employee. |

Absolutely. I may not be a lawyer - so I can't give you any legal precedents - but I would say that putting up a sign at work that is against the company for whom you work is, at the very least, a truly stupid idea and one that can get you fired (rightfully so, in my opinion). The fact that you are asking the question tells me that you already know it IS gross misconduct and perhaps hope someone will tell you differently. |

That's pretty much one of the classic examples used to demonstrate gross misconduct. However, it really depends on what the sign says. |

I should imagine yes without a doubt. It could be defamitary. I got that word out of the dictionary. |

What country are you in?
What work do you do?
What is written on the sign?
Oh forget it..............yes |

Could be. It depends on the specifics. |

I do not think that putting up any sign is acceptable. Our office does not allow signs/ pictures / thank you notes from employees etc. Nothing can be taped anywhere. Part of this reason is that it looks tacky and the other reason is that the lawyers believe that anything attached to wall even if in an employee lunch / break room give unions right to post notices. They do not want any union to become involved. I would get approval. You sometimes are able to fix things in hard / soft offices / cubes. Best to ask your manager or seek out preapproval through facilities. |

Yep...in most cases, depends whats on the sign..but I have dismissed one employee for the exact same thing. |

It is if the company has a policy against it...and most do. Why would you want to do that anyway? 99.999% of the time you'd get fired immediately. |

yes - it implies conflict of interest which could lead to immediate dismissal - no you can't sue them! |

well it all depends what the sign was and where you put it. But you mainly need to find out what the company policy is.
Most companies have a staff notice board - where you are allowed to but things on |

Yes, it could be considered affecting the morale of your fellow employees or bringing down morale. Check with your H.R. department but I'm pretty sure they won't like it very much. |
