Is there a CT Workman's Comp Lawyer that can answer a question?

Our daughter went to work last month, called crying for us to pick her up, said she was putting out dusty, moldy boxes of freight, had her arms full of frames with glass in them and was reaching up to put them on a shelf, when the dust and mold irritated her sinuses, she sneezed once while trying to not drop the merchandise, felt a sharp pain in her lower back, sneezed a second time immediately after the first, then the pain became more severe to where she was in tears. She could not stand, sit, walk or drive without much discomfort. She immediately informed the manager on duty and was told she should go home but when my husband and I got there she had to finish helping a customer because no employee came to take over and wait on a customer for her! She called in sick the next day and her manager from the frame shop called and told her that her Saturday shift would be covered as well. Finally she got a call from corporate asking her if she had seen a doctor. We were trying to treat her injury with heat and rest but to no avail so I took her to a chiropractor. The doctor had to call corporate several times to get a claim # which took several days for them to give. My daughter got nothing in writing and was not told in person by law by Corporate anything about her claim or that they would not pay. This woman just kept asking if she had been to the doctor. After 4 visits to the doctor (he had confirmed the injury and ordered 12 visits) the corporate office decided to not pay anything. Then after I asked Corporate that they at least pay the 4 visits she had already gone to, they decided only on one 1! What will it cost to get an attorney for this claim? Now I want them to pay all her 12 visits plus pain and suffering and for the 2 1/2 days she missed work because of this. She is still in pain but has to continue to work to pay her bills. The store manager is alluding to the fact that she needs to do yoga and get in shape. Our daughter IS in shape and is very athletic. The doctor said her body was in a vulneral position when she sneezed and could not brace herself properly because her arms were full of merchandise and her right arm was in an upward position putting frames on the shelf. He is the professional doctor and we trust his medical opinion over the store's Corporate office. We finally got a letter of denial of the claim 14 days after my daughter's injury. It is dirty for them to keep asking if she went to the doctor and then deny payment. She was not injured before she went to work, but she was injured when my husband and I picked her up from work. Please help. Thank you very much!

1. you probably don't need a lawyer the state will assist you.
workers compensation insurance is required by law.

2. the law does not allow you to sue for pain and suffering all it allows is medical expenses to be paid and a percentage of earnings (2/3) if more then 7 days of work is missed it also provides for settlement once maximum medical improvement has been made and there is a permanent partial or total disability.

3. if the state does not assist and the employer or insurance carrier is contesting the injury then you may need an attorney but not at this time and you still can only sue for what the law allows/expects.

Here's a chiropracor in CT that sees work injury patients, you may want to ask them. Call them and see if they know the steps you should take. They most likely work with attorney's in the area so have contacts if you need them.
