Yes there is such a thing. About a year in college is necessary, it varies among the states. Your pay can't be determined, it changes. |

In case you haven't figured it out, a K-9 (canine) officer is a police dog! lol. They do however, have human handlers, who are trained police officers with extra training. |

to be a K-9 police officer can be a very tough training course
they start when you are only a year or so old, and they make you sleep in a cage, plus they only feed you dog food
the trianing is relentless and you have to pick things up and carry them around in your mouth
plus they don't let you wear anything at all, even in cold weather
oh, yeah , no gun, you have to chase bad guys with no weapon except your own teeth and claws
you get no pay and no pension, just a few dog biscuits as your reward
