yep, easy.

They can do a background check online.

Numerous websites offer background checks for various prices.

Since your employers have to report your earnings to the IRS, you bet they can check on the past employment.

Therefore, when submitting a Resume, it is ok to leave off jobs that are less than 3 months -- but when filling out an employment application it is not. Because the Resume is just the "highlights" of your career, and the application is a full listing.

Yup. All they have to do is pull your credit report and any job that you have used when you have applied for credit or listed with a utility company will appear.

They can also use employer-fed databases such as www.theworknumber.com and all they have to do is punch in your social security number and in 2 minutes, a list of participating employers where you worked pops up.

Yes. Once the new employer has you full name and social security number from the applications. They can exercise several options and/or methods to find a complete work background on you. These are all legal ways. There are also a host of illegal ways a less than scrupulous employer can use to get the information.

Kind of.. Things are held on file for only so long before the company decides to trash the info. It's normally 2-5 years, or how ever long the company keeps it.

Plus some companies don't release that information...

Hopes this helps!
