Of course!
An open warrant is a very bad thing, that means that I for one as an employer cannot count on you to be a long term employee (an open warrant will catch up with you) and two you lack integrity. |

A company can refuse to hire you for any reason. If you have a warrant for your arrest somewhere I would urge you to find a way to resolve the matter ASAP. No company wants to have the police come and arrest their employee's. |

It's not job discrimination. Having an arrest warrant is certainly a valid reason for not hiring you. If you had withheld that information, and they found out about it after they hired you, they would have grounds for firing you. |

Unless you are convicted of something you do not have a criminal record, right now you are only accused. But this is very hard to answer. It may be dependent on the type of work you are applying for, and they may feel you will miss alot of work once you are hired. My friends son is going to court for theft and his lawyer told him to find a job before court, one it will look good to the judge, and two, once something is on your record and you are asked you must tell. I know of someone who worked the same job for 16 years and someone ratted on him. His work record didn't matter, they fired him for lying on his application. |

Employers are not allowed to ask, anyway, if you've been arrested, only if you've been convicted of a crime. You would be a moron to mention this warrant to a potential employer though, because they can't ask. I think an employer can use his or her judgment reasonably if there's a warrant out for your arrest somewhere. And if it is discrimination to not hire you for this reason (if you volunteered it), then they probably wouldn't tell you that they didn't hire you for this reason. |
