2 years ago i was working at a company and when i became pregnant i felt as though i was being bullied and eventually couldnt cope anymore and one day i walked out and never returned. I called in sick for like the first day or two and then just never went back. Eventually i got a letter of them saying if i didnt call within 7 days my employment was over but i ignored it. (yes in hindsight it wasnt the best thing to do but i was an emotional mess at the time) Im now ready to go back to work after being a full time mum but what do i put on my application form ? Am i classed as being sacked from my previous job? I dont want to lie on my application form.

contact the employer explain what happened how you handled it and ask them how they have you classified, terminated or quit.......
then you will have no doubt that your applications will match the reference if checked.

either you quit or were fired due to your pregnancy and the absenteeism it caused. most employers are going to understand this as long as you are honest about it and don't make excuses for what you did. good luck in the future.

Don;t worry about it. Just say you left because of your pregnancy.

Since you never told them that you are quitting. I would have to say that they terminated you for failure to show up for work.

I will say that with this situation, that you are going to find it even more difficult to find work. Your previous employer will tell any prospecive employer the reason for your termination. In this economy, where you will be competeing against potentially hundreds even thousands of other applicants, this black mark will probably keep you from finding a new job.
