Is this considered lying in an application?
|
I'm currently looking for a new job. I put down my employment history. Two places I worked for I got terminated. I put both places down. One of the places I put reason for leaving personal. The other place I put down I left to work somewhere else. I did leave that job and ended up working somewhere else, but I did not leave volunterly. However, I did not state that I left volunterly, I simply stated that I left. Also the applications I filled out did not ask if Ieft volunterly. So is there any way this could be considered lying?

Do you know , the best way to describe recruitment is as follows " Recruitment is taking people to hell showing the heaven". Since you had changed many jobs, you will agree that this is true. While interviewing, the recruiter will say lot of things , which in fact are obviously exaggerated. If the recruiter can do that then there is nothing wrong in you also hide something. But you should make corrections in your attitude , otherwise you will be again fired.
Thanks and regards |

Not exactly a lie, no. Stretching the truth is somewhat of a common practice in job applications. Good luck in getting that job. |

I am a manager in the retail department and have interviewed several people. From my experience, complete honesty has always impressed me more than anything else. Even if someone has been fired for something bad, I have a lot more respect for them than most others and am more likely to trust that the rest of thier application and anything they tell me is the truth and they are not trying to pass anything by me. That is my two cents on the topic. |

Honesty.........is the key............you don't have to remember what you lied about.............. |

If you were fired for something like sleeping with the manager's girlfriend and they blamed you for some dumb reason, I can see how exagerating would be okay to say you left for another job.
If you were fired for something serious, like constantly sleeping on the job, be honest. "I was young and my work ethic was not what it is now. I did not perform my tasks as instructed and my performance was subpar. I have since learned from this experience and have since matured enough to know to take all jobs seriously."
You get the idea. |
