Is this grounds for Slander?

The girl i work with has lied about a million times about me and a lot of other people. She has told my fiance that i said he was ugly. She did that twice. NOT true. She has told my boss things that i didn't do or say. She told two people that my co-worker steals food and supplies every night from work. This all takes place at work. Everybody is fed up with her and I want to know what can be done legally. Her grandma is a resident there, so that is why my boss has done nothing to her. Please, somebody give me some good advice. I am desperate!

technically this is slander but being able to do anything about this particular case legally would be next to impossible.

did anyone actually believe what was said and take a derogatory action against you? did the statements cost you anything? since everyone is "fed up with her" then it is obvious that the lies are not believed and therefor not slanderous. gossip and bickering between coworkers is very common and you just need to worry about doing your job and staying above this kind of conduct. the best thing that can happen is coworkers ignore the lies and rumors and do their jobs. if no one listens or believes the lies then the one doing the lying will quit lying and just go on with their job.
you should have better things to do (and to worry about) then some petty coworker who is only trying to annoy you.
i would hope you are better then this........
