Is this right or should I persue an attorney?

I have cont ed this yr to renew my license with the state and it does say it can be waived poss for a med cond.I have a problem sitting for the 7 hrs and cant sit tht long ,I as of this yr have arthritis ect.We can do the net on part also.I talked to the state and she said u do it or lose your license it is required .Im really angry cause Im trying to stay working and have had to change my hours and want to stay productive,.any info ?thanx a

Generally, you won't be sitting for 7 hours in a class. If you are, your instructors are an issue.

Continuing education requirements are necessary to ensure that people aren't seeing dentists/doctors/attorneys/teachers/etc. that are still using the archaic methods taught back in the 1930's when less was known.

Check to see if there is a serial course available, or other method that will fit with your disability. If there is (or even if they will let you stand up and sit down and move around in the back of a classroom) then you will likely not be able to have any sort of case.

Either way, though, it won't hurt to talk to an attorney. Usually, they will let you know if there is a case without any charge -- they don't make money by taking on clients when there is no real case.

To what in the world are you referring? Drivers License? Plumbers License?

Find a venue for the continuing ed that is not seven hours. There are several ways to accomplish this:
- Classes offered by your local hospital HR department
- Classes offered by your local community college
- Continuing ed credits offered by mail in tests found in many trade magazines

Or go to the seven hour class and let the instructor know that you will be standing occasionally because you cannot sit for seven hours.

I doubt an attorney would take this case. It seems frivolous.

I don't understand what you are talking about. Do you need classroom time and computer time to renew whatever license you are referring to? If so, my experience has been that no license renewal course requires sitting for 7 hours in class or on the computer. Please provide additional details.

Wow, you might want to try again, you dont say what kind of license, and you dont say what the exact requirement is that you are not meeting, somthing about not being able to sit, but I dont think that needing to be able to sit for more than 7 hours is for a drivers license. If you use better grammar, you're likely to get better answers, because then we'll understand what you are asking.

There should be a way to be able to take the test another way due to the ADA acts... I would just talk to someone else... Sometimes these people talk to all kinds of people and even though you are being truthful the people can't see you or they have formulated that every one who wants to "have the easy exam" is lazy... So first talk to someone else, a counselor for cont. ed. and if all else fail then a lawyer, that should be your last result...
