Ive been fooled by a scam what shud i do?

Right i was on job seekers website and there was a job so i applyed but i fooled for it, last week a company that is a fruad one has put £1534.31 into my bank i have took my 6% of £90 as i thought it was a real job and never heard of this kind before and i was stupid not to look into it.

well i went to the bank today and my account is being investegated should i go to the police and if so would i get arrested i am willing to pay back the £90 i just want to know will the police arrest me or will they look into it further i have every detail including the website.

Am i the criminal i have not spent the money it stilll in my bank for investgation i am scared in case i get arrested for something i didnt no who else can i talk to im 19 and never been in trouble before

talk to your bank, see if they can give you some advice. i don't think the police will do anything

ok many people have been scammed like this go to the bank and tell them you thought it was a real job, they will call the police in, but to investigate the perpetrators you will probably get told off but nothing else

Yeah--Id get in contact of the people who are investigating you or the police and let them know. Maybe they can shut that scam company down too so nothing like that happens to someone else. Be 100% honest or they'll think you're hiding more than you actually are.

I would talk to your bank first. You definitely need to talk to the bank soon, because you have given your account details to someone else now, so that person may try to clear your account and the bank will need to give you a different account number. Depending on what they say then go the police as well.

Don't worry - you're not the first person to have fallen for something like that - unfortunately because many people fall for it, that's why these people are successful and can keep doing it.

Because you're young and you don't have a criminal record, it's likely that they will believe your side of the story.

I would go to the police ASAP and take with you as much info as you have about the whole deal from the moment you found the website as it may help the police in finding them GOOD LUCK

No, you aren't the criminal, but you do need to report it. I bet loads of people have had the same thing happen and just don't do anything about it. If you feel scared then speak to the Citizens Advice Bureau first. It's not a criminal offence to fall for a scam.

OK I would contact your bank via telephone explain that you have been part of an Internet scam and ask for advise on how to best resolve the situation. Print off any emails etc and take them with the path files to the bank they may help to trace the criminals...doubt it though. This seems a case of embezzlement.
Never give out your bank details to anyone who you don't have an address for.
If something seems too good to be true that's because it is and finally there really is no such thing as a free lunch.

You will be paying back the entire 1534.31, not just the 90 you kept.

Otherwise you are guilty of theft.
