which is the better degree to have
if i want to end up working on my own immediately?
or just in general which is the better degree if i want power and prestigue?
i want to work in international business/ affairs
something with gov't
i don't know yet
but which is the better choice in terms of the speed of rising to power?

If you want to work in int'l business law, then get a BA in Int'l business (not all colleges offer this so choose wisely), then a JD. If you then want to get your MBA, I suggest you do it while you are at your first job. It is highly unlikely you will work "on your own" (private practice) without working at a company or for the gov't first; no one is going to go to someone fresh out of law school. You will need to work summers as a clerk to get experience and that firm ideally will then hire you as an associate once you have proven to be a good employee with potential. No short cuts, sorry. |
