I just accepted a position after a short online interview from a company in London even though I'm living in the U.S. It's a bookkeeping/accounting position (more like a virtual version). I am fresh out of college and I'm not stupid. Now the company expects me to open Well Fargos bank account so that they can send my weekly salaries to that account. But it requires $100 to open a Well Fargos account, which I don't want to do it. So I withheld and told the company to transfer the funds to my current bank with BOA. The weirdest thing is that they want me to withdraw $9000 and signing bonus from my BOA account and send it to the shipping agent in U.K. at Western Union. Now I'm wondering if that is a total scam or what. I mean, they are willing to pay me to open an account and the salary I will start.

that screams scam. if they were in any way legit they would have flown you to london for the interview or something, and they wouldnt ask you to open a new bank account just for them. they would be able to put it directly into your currant bank account. |

i would do a complete search on the company first and i would not give them a penny they should be able to wire or direct deposit into any account that you already have. |

that's definitely a scam!!!
I received loads of emails from "companies" overseas that want to use my bank account to send money to clients. I googled the email, and find out that its on a list of scammers. Especially if you did an online interview I mean come on, anything that sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I just got an email earlier day from someone saying I work 10 hours a week, and make an annual salary of 42,000. oh really!! |
