Jobs after graduation?

I graduate from Law School, adn I am looking for a job that I would enjoy. I know that after 3 years in law school, traditional practice is not for me. (a VERY expensive lesson to learn!) I am looking for a job where a JD would still be useful, but also allows me to travel and decent pay. Does anyone know what types of jobs are out there that has those qualities. JD preferred is optional. I would still be interested if I never used the JD.

I wanted to add that you could also become a consultant for companies like Booz Allen, Accenture, PWC, etc. In many cases they will have lawyers in non-legal consulting roles.
Patent attorneys (what was your undergrad) have fun jobs and are somewhat non-traditional with travel and decent pay.
I know a guy that designs and manages SharePoint (Microsoft tool for collaboration and collaborative) websites in the D.C. metro area as a consultant in the federal space. He is a JD but enjoys working with computers, travelling, and working with people. He also makes more money working with computers than he would working his way through the traditional attorney ranks.
A friend of mine does legal research and never sees the inside of a court room. It's not much travel and the pay is decent but it's not as good as the 2 guys that own the firm. |
