I started working at my current workplace in November 2007, started at $8/hr then got a raise one week later to $9/hr because i got a promotion. On March 31, 2008, when minimum wage went up to $8.75/hr, I stayed at the same hourly wage. I do know that they should have put my pay up then, but I wasn't worried at all about money then. I start college in the fall, and money's getting short. My workplace(I'm not gonna mention the name of it) is just recently one year old. I've worked there for 9 months now, how much of a raise should I be asking for?

Logically you can ask for at least the same amount of 0.75/ hr. The reason you can site is "distortion" where the entry rate now is 8.75 due to the increase in the minimum wage. This causes a distortion across all salary ranges. In some companies, they give as high as 15% increase after 6 months. Although some give as low as 5%. Still, others don't have increases at all. Your probability of getting a higher rate would depend on your past performance and the company's profitability given the fact that it is still in in its infancy stage. Good Luck
