"If an employee is laid off, discharged, fired, or otherwise involuntarily separated from employment, the final pay is due within six (6) calendar days of discharge. If the employee quits, retires, resigns, or otherwise leaves employment voluntarily, the final pay is due on the next regularly-scheduled payday following the effective date of resignation."

36
From the Texas state labor board website:

"(b) When an employee leaves employment other than by discharge on a payday, payment of wages in full will be due the following scheduled payday. The Commission shall consider "discharge" as dismissal or release from employment initiated by the employer including, but not limited to, layoff"

So if you voluntarily quit, then your former employer has up to your next scheduled payday to pay you. If you were fired, then wages are probably due on your last day of work.
