Lawyer as a career? Need help!?

How much does a criminal justice lawyer make? I really want to be a lawyer and have wanted to be one since I was 7 i'm now 13. I was being told that I would make a good lawyer for years now. So I want to accomplish that dream. My family was saying that a criminal justice lawyer would probably make the most. I know money doesn't bring you happiness but... so what do they make? And what lawyer would you think would make the most money.

I'm in law school now. First you get good grades in HS (at least a 3.3 GPA), then get into college and get good grades (at least a 3.3 GPA) and get your Bachelors degree. Then you can get into law school, which is usually 3-4 more years.

Income for lawyers depends on where you're practicing and how good you are. OJ's lawyers make $400+/hr; asst district atty's in Idaho make about $40/hr.

Not sure which country you are in. In the UK criminal lawyers fall into 3 main area's of employment

court service
crown prosecution service (prosecution of offenders)
defence solicitors

payment depends on your experience, expertise and the sector you work in.

criminal law is definately not a top area for salary and benefits, best areas are business law, employment etc

get a copy of the law society gazette it has a vast range of legal posts advertised and that will give you a good indication of realistic salaries. I think I saw locum lawyer posts advertised there recently for around £25 per hour.
