I'm mainly wondering that if I were to take Theatre as my undergraduate degree would it take away my chances of getting into law school?
Or should I go for something like Criminology?

I majored in sociology. Honestly, there is no specific major you need to go to law school, you just need to have done well at whatever major you chose in undergrad.
I have heard from some law school admissions committees that they prefer someone who didn't major in something "stereotypical" like poli sci since that person may have a broader background.
Major in what you really want to major in. Something that teaches you how to write and critically think is always helpful. As far as learning the law, though, law school will teach you what you need to know to take the bar. |

Warning: Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST!!! This is NOT a good field to invest in!!! Reasons? very bad economy, we simply have WAY TOO MANY attorneys right now (go to your phone book, look in the Yellow Pages under "A"), today many people (mistakenly) think they can do their own legal work thanks to the Internet, there are WAY TOO MANY law schools today (and this includes those that support legal support professionals such as paralegals, legal assistants, legal secretaries, court reporters, etc, etc) churning out WAY TOO MANY graduates for the economy and the demand.
So....even if you make it through law school, you probably won't be able to find a job. There are MANY attorneys today working as paralegals, legal secretaries, etc, just to be able to pay some of their bills.
Suggestion: Think about the field of Healthcare! <<< LOTS of job openings there - lots of good jobs!!
Another suggestion: It would be a LOT less expensive if you sought out the advice of a Guidance Counselor - they could give you a Vocational Test - this isn't like a "real" test - it would ask you questions about your likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, etc. This could save you a LOT of time and money.
