Leave entitlements when accepting a contract position?

I am thinking of accepting a 6 - 12month contract position. I have never been employed on a contract basis before so i was wondering if the position is full time do you still accrue annual and sick leave?

Whether you accrue sick or vacation leave, details about overtime pay, and other details should be spelled out in the contract - read it carefully before you sign. Or you can ask the representative of the company.

As a contractor, you generally do not accrue vacation or sick time, and you may not get holidays off, either. Make sure you ask for the details in writing, in the contract which spells out the scope of work and payment for the contract.
