I had ordered some bridemaid dresses that totaled 5,000 dollars from a small co. The agreement was that he was to have them done in June. Because i was to be married in August. The last minute things came up and i ended up getting married in July. I had no worries b/c the dresses were suppose to be done in June. I ended up buying last minute dresses. But he wants to sue me b/c i never needed to buy the dresses for they werent to me in the correct time. or should i sue him ? who has this case? Please give me exact details. How much would i get? How much would he get. He didnt know i was getting married early i didnt think i had to tell him b/c the agreement was to have the dresses a month befor anyway

Well, if you got married in July and they were supposed to be done by June, you should have already gotten them, so they have no right to sue you if they did not fulfill their end of the deal. That is, if I understand you correctly. |

If you had a written contract that he was to have them to you in June, you probably have a strong position if he sues you since he didn't fulfill his contract. But it would have been a real good idea if you had contacted him as soon as you knew of the date change to let him know, and that could weaken your position some. |

If your contract specifically says the dresses are to be finished by June, then he didn't live up to his end of the bargain and you would win.
Do you have any documentation that you followed up in June and the dresses were not ready? That would help your case.
If you win, you should be able to get a refund on any deposit you made on those dresses. |

he would win because you never told him and did not try to see if he could even get them to you. Did he not have the dresses done in June?? I would think you are going to get to pay for a bunch of dresses that you will never use. |
