I got to work last night and,me and my colleague noticed there were training days for us and a few more(we always go to them).They are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday,this coming week(all day 9-5.I only work Thursday,Friday and Saturday,so have not been in work all week,since Sunday morning.But there was nothing on the noticeboard last weekend,to mention this,and this is the first we have heard of these training days,last night.But obviously having been away all week from work i and my family have made plans for next week,albeit only painting and decorating,but they have been arranged to do them.But what i would like to know is,should your employer give you more notice than this.Surely we are not
supposed to drop everything we have planned to go to these training days,on such short notice.Is there a legal time limit that they must forwarn you of any upcomimg training,because our employer will not be very pleased if we do not attend.Should they have gave us more notice?Thanks.

There are times when you have to prioritize your life. For most of us, our paycheck is our first priority so we bend our plans around the job. It is entirely up to you how you handle this situation. |

As far as I know there is no requirement to give any notice of training, but if it's on a day you don't work you can swop the training day for one of the days you do work.
For example if the training is on Monday (which you don't do), you can have Thursday (which you do) as a day off. |

You should discuss this with your employer. Find out when the schedule for training was posted. What is you availability? There is no legal limit or scheduling and thus you should discuss this with your boss and let them know that you are not available for training on Tuesday because of prior conflict. |
