Meeting conversation recorded in office, legal or Not?

I work for a company in Nebraska. I know that it is a one party state, one must know about the recording.
Can my manager legally record and use in court a recording of the conversation that occurred in the office. His recorder was sitting on his desk in plain site, however he did not inform me that he was recording the conversation.

It is fairly easy to get such evidence thrown out. But why would there be anything incriminating on a recording that you knew was going on? Did you see him push record, was their a red light lit? was there any indication at all that you were being recorded?
The biggest hinderance for him to use it, is proving that the voice is you. I could have been paid to sit there and talk like you because my voice sounds similar. Witnesses could have been paid to say they were sitting there watching you, or could have been tricked into thinking it WAS you when it wasnt.
This is just some of the ways you can cast doubt, if it is a criminal charge.
Civil preceding will be less concerned with reasonable doubt. |

I am actually in the midst of suing my former employer. In fact, in the last meeting I attended they were recording and never said nothing, but I knew they were recording. One of the managers at the meeting forgot he told me his little secret the notebook he carries around is also a recording device that he always has on. Made no difference as I had a tape recorder strapped to my waist under my business suit. I was actually told it could be used when my hearing comes up. |

There is ONE answer to this question. DO NOT say anything you do not want the world to hear. Legal or not legal it puts doubt in people's mind about you.
I have a big mouth but I don't say anything to someone that I wouldn't want published to the world. Then you are safe. You don't have to "remember" what you said to anyone. |

I believ he has to prove that you were aware of this fact, so unless it is not on the recording itself (starting with him telling to you that he is recording), or he has informed you otherwise, I would say that it isn't allowed in court...I'm not sure though! |

you must be told that you are being recorded. just having it out on the desk does not necessarily imply that you are ,or that you are aware that you are. you can always ask if you are
being recorded and you do have the right to say no. |
