Find answers to your legal question.

Misdemeanor Underage drinking.?

I have a 8 year old misdemeanor. I forgot about it completely and failed to put in on any jobs apps (and was still hired), but now I remembered it and will recieve a job only if I pass the brackground check. Will this show up or effect me getting the job? I will be working for a bank and it was a underage drinking misdemeanor,
Additional Details
I was 18 when I recieved the underage and it was in a county I was just passing by...I never lived there.

If underage it should not show up

I am not sure but I think underage in the court system would rule and not the legal age for drinking. You say you WERE 18 and I think that might be a problem.

No, it goes to a "Yellow paper" once you are an adult, I believe Juvinal records are "SEALED" once you become an adult. A "misdemeanor" is a crime that is punishable for a year or less in jail. I've gotten under age drinking tickets, they NEVER showed up in a background check.

Great Scott
It probably won't pop up, but if it does it's so minor I doubt anyone would care.

It depends on the situation. They may not find it if you were under 18, but they still could.

I would recommend contacting the HR where you were hired, and mentioning that you were reminded of it last night, and bringing it to their attention. This way, if/when it does show up, they are not surprised. If it does show up and they don't expect it, you will lose your job for sure.
