My husband has been having tax taken at source from a person that insists my husband was self employed , yet he filled all the criteria on the gov website for an employed person. This employer has not been paying the tax to the tax man and it amounts to about 26,000 . The emoyer is now saying that he cannot afford to tell the tax mam and pay the fines so he will have to go bankrupt. He is trying to get my husband to agree to saying that his wages were gross . What on earth should we do ???
