No, because they serve alcohol and a 14 year old cannot touch alcohol to serve it in ANY state. |

In the US it's probably not legal. She needs to be 18 to serve alcohol. It's unlikely, to say the very least, anyone would hire a waitress at a pub who could not serve alcohol. Furthermore, the hours which 14 year old are legally allowed to work are not good pub hours. That, alone, is usually prohibitive in hiring anyone in most restaurants at that age.
If you are in the US I'd be very concerned as to why they would risk breaking labour and liquor laws to have her serve. |

Why would you let your 14-year-old work in a pub? Sorry, I don't think that's appropriate, most 14 and 15 year-olds get paper rounds. |

Technically it is legal although there will be certain things she can't do. For instance if there is a coffee machine she is unlikely to be able to use it as it is classed as a dangerous machine the same with an industrial dishwasher. The length of hours she can work and the breaks will also be slightly different than those of over 16s. 14 yr olds are allowed in a bar just not to drink alcohol so the fact that it is a pub is irrelevant but any serving of alcohol will have to be supervised by an adult (18+) |

I don't think so. I think The minimum age used to be 15 years and 3 months to work part time, and I'm sure she shouldn't have been working in a pub. /she might have got away with washing up in the kitchens maybe, but I don't think she should have been allowed to work as a waitress. |

Mary B means in the United States, where "pubs" are usually called "bars". Since you wrote "pub", I assume that you are not in the U.S. and that what Mary B wrote does not apply. |
