My company downsized, therefore I was out of work. My insurance premiums were paid up a month in advance, I asked about it, and they told me that there was no refund avaliable. I know there is, I have my paycheck stubs to show where it was taken out a month in advance, and called the insurance company, whom told me that I had been dropped? How do I get my money back?
Additional Details
I was paid weekly, and worked in automobile sales. I was paid comission, I believe that is why they required us to pay a month in advance.

you are probably covered for the first 30-days of your unemployment
find out the exact date you were droppedand compare that with your date of lay-off and did the insurance tell you premiums are paid monthly.

Are you paid monthly? Usually insurance deductions are either up to date or paid in arrears. I doubt they would have you a whole month in advance.
If you are actually paid ahead then your company needs to either pay you back or extend your coverage until the date it is paid for. |
