My employer promised to pay me for my trial day at work, but she didn't...?

She said she'd pay me after the trial day, as it was not like my first day at work, it was just to see how it goes. However, she did not pay me, how should i bring this up? Should I wait until my first day this week and see whether she pays me then? I really need money intstantly though.

She pays everyone every two weeks in cash, no cheques.

Have you had any pay yet - most employers will pay you at the end of the month, and if she promised to pay you your trial day, you'll probably find it's included once payroll has been run then.

You don't mention what kind of job it is - if it's ordinary cash in hand bar work you're more likely to get your money. If it's office work, you may have to wait until payday.

I wouldn't say anything just yet - when you have only just started a job and you immediately bring up money, it doesn't look good at all. Can you borrow some cash until you get paid?

Sounds like you'll have to wait till your first paycheck. I suggest you borrow money from a friend or family until then.

First, she isn't going to reach in her purse and hand you cash or write you a check, it doesn't work that way. Has the pay period covering that day past and you receieved a check that does not include that pay? If so, then take your pay stub to her and inquire politely. Perhaps it was an oversight.

You should wait until you have your first weeks work done before you expect to be paid.. you probably will be paid for your training day then too

Is this a permanent job or a casual job? If you have got the position then it is usual to pay at the end of a pay period. If you are desparate for funds then you can explain your situation to your employer and she may advance you some money against your wage.

you might have to Waite until your first week is over ask your employer about it when you go to work

just bring it up when you see her, say so what way are you going to pay me for whatever day it was, say are you just going to give it to me in my pay, or give it to me now, tell her your skint and need it.

How were you expecting to get paid? Monthly? Weekly? Are you sure they won't just add it to your first pay cheque?
