if you visit your local citizen's advice bureau they can do a quick benefit check to make sure you are getting what you are entitled to, and will help you complete any forms etc

In the US, Social Security would be an entitlement. State Disability and Unemployment also an entitlement. People pay into those systems. When they retire or become disabled or unemployed, entitled to the benefits they paid for. Little else is considered entitlement. Welfare benefits are charitable from the government but paid for by others through taxes. Such as schools, police, libraries, public roads are not entitlements but facillities for common public use and benefit and paid for through all forms of taxation. |
