Depends on the felony. If it was a violent or drug related felony, its going to limit his career in the trucking industry for the rest of his life. If it wasnt that type of felony, he shouldnt have a problem.
With a violent or drug related felony, he might be able to find a job trucking. However the company that hires him is going to know they are his only option and pay him very very little.
Ive been working on the corporate side of the trucking industry for 15 years. If his felony is drug or violence related, THIS IS NOT THE INDUSTRY FOR HIM. He would be better off doing something else.

Have your husband go to www.truckroute.net and fill out the driver application there. I will do my best to find him a driver job. I hire out drivers with old felonies all the time at no cost.

CatLaw
If his felony was while he was a minor, he may be able to expunge his record. This varies by state and usually applies to certain crimes done while a person was of a young age. Try doing a search on 'expunge' and your state. Most states have that info on the web.

If he does not qualify for an expungment, he will probably continue to have problems due to the requirements of the CDL. After 9/11 CDL holders are now looked at a lot closer. Good luck.
