i just got convicted of a class c felony in alabama in july. i just offered a job with carmax financial through a temp agency.. im really scared because i moved to another state for this job and i have to go in wednesday to fill out my background authorization form... iwhat can i do to make my feloniy come up????

Absolutely nothing you can do to avoid this from coming up unless your state is one of those states that do not share this information with other states. Meaning Alabama does not share this info with other states. Also as the previous poster wrote this does not mean you will be rejected. In fact, to discriminate against someone from securing a job due to a conviction is discriminatory and they would be liable under The Civil Rights Act Title VII (7) |

Being convicted of a felony does not mean you won't qualify for the job. If I were you, I'd be upfront about it, if they hear it from you first, your employer probably won't care too much. That being said, if the felony has anything to do with your new job responsibilities (like embezzling money) you need to start looking for a new job. |
