NYC entry-level lawyer??
Find answers to your legal question.

NYC entry-level lawyer??

What kind of lawyers have the best job opportunities in NYC?
Ballpark, how much do they make?

I'm thinking of becoming a lawyer, and I just want to know as much about it as possible.

Any information on it would be great everyone, thanks!

What Lisa said. I am 2L and thank goodness my goal isn't to practice at any firm. I have friends who graduated two or more years ago and can't find a job even if they offered there services for free.

Good luck finding an entry position in NYC! Coming from a family of lawyers, I know that the competition there is INSANE. Become a lawyer but get a job in Jersey. LOL.

if you can get a job in Manhattan private first year any where to 75K to 125K but it is not easy to land such jobs, also be ready for 2K billing hours for the year no life

Sorry, but if you're talking about major law firms in NYC then you have about a 3% chance of being hired if you aren't an Ivy League law school graduate; and even if you are you are still not guaranteed anything unless you have friends/family on the inside.

You may find entry level work in a non-profit setting and the salary is about $15-25k. Yes, it's terrible.
