Name and Shaming - Is it actually legal?

I work with clients and know that they are cheating the benefits system. They have slipped up on things on a number of occasions. One client was reported and this was publised on a website. I need to know, is it actually LEGAL to name and shame someone, basically exposing them in newspapers and on websites etc.
Remember I am asking, is it LEGAL FOR THEM TO BE NAMED AND SHAMED.

Yes, naming and shaming is legal. But, if its not true, then the person doing the naming and shaming can be sued for defamation. |
