Non Violent Non-Convicted Felony Affect Employment - Age 17. MDOP?

Hello.
I am going to be Majoring in [Physics] and Minoring in [Economics]. I was part of a high school prank my Senior year. I was 17, I was tried as an adult, I plead no content and was found not convinced.
I paid back my damages to the school and I have never done anything else before. I do feel I am not a criminal, and I do feel I am highly educated.
It's not like I raped someone, killed someone, or beat someone. This was just a high school farcé that was several hundred dollars in cost and it was in Felony Range.
Will this prevent me from getting any jobs, if so - what ones?
I looked into Expungment but it's for people who are convicted of the crime.
It's not like this was a severe crime, I payed back damages, I don't feel this would effect really any job. It's not like I would do the same thing at my place of employment.
## The Damages were to a school fiber optics line and severs and telecommunications network.. So I know my way around with sever networks. Hah.
Thanks

If you weren't convicted (you've typed convinced - I take it you mean convicted?) then you have no criminal record. You paid the school back and can just put it all behind you and get on with your life. |

I would suggest doing a criminal background check to see what the employers are going to see, then you will know for sure how it looks. If it doesn't come up, don't mention it. It might not come up, because it doesn't sound like a conviction. As an Employment Specialist I work with people who have extensive criminal backgrounds, I find employers who are willing to work with them. Most employers will see that for what it is and not an indicator of a criminal mind, but someone who used some bad judgement once. I have a posting on my blog on criminal records and employment. bestemploymentresources.com. Good Luck to you with many happy jobs ahead. |

It will not affect any employment options unless you wish to work in the police force and even then under discrimination rules you may be safe~~ |
