After 10 years of continuous service, a person resigns and is unable to complete 30 days of notice period service after resignation. However completing 10 days in notice period, will the employer forefit the gratuity amount payable to employee?

It depends on the employee handbook.... at my company, we require two weeks notice to get vacation time, etc. If an employee just quits or doesn't fulfill the notice period, they are not eligible to receive their accrued vacation/bonuses. All of this is clearly stated in our employee handbook - which employees have to sign off that they have read in their first week of employment.
So... go find your employee handbook and start reading... that will tell you exactly what you can & can't do. |
