Not sure what to do?

Until recently I worked for a small privately owned business.
The other day I was taken aside and told that 200.00 dollars had gone missing from the drawer. A transaction i didnt take in. I also did not count the money at the end of the day. I told my employer that i did not take the money he didnt believe me so i quit. i do not want to work for someone who doesnt trust me. the transaction was also removed from the computer, which i dont even know how to do.what i think happened was that somebody who doesnt like me set it up to make it look like it was me and there really wasnt 200.00 dollars. either way im out of a job and what i want to know is if there is any course of action i can take or if i have to simply let it go. i have looked briefly at labor laws for my area but have not been able to find anything that specific.

i realize that quitting gets me less than if he fired me. but the thing that upsets me is that he didnt ask me if i took it. he blamed me out right with no proof whatsoever

Yes quiting was a bad plan, if you just need peace of mind you can bring civil action against your former employer, if you know he told anyone you committed a crime. and not simply accused you . that would be slanderous.

quitting was a mistake. If they fired you with no proof you might have something but quitting looks bad, like you wanted to get away.

You have no case against anyone. You have no idea who did the deed and no proof it was done to make you look bad. You took a voluntary quit (which makes you look guilty as all get out).

You've got nothing. You probably don't have a reference either.
