i went to the supervisor 3 times complaining and got no response or help so i filed the complaint with human resources. i was told my case was definately a violation of my rights and it would be investigated immediately. well its now july 17th and im still being harrassed and the supervisor continues to make me work with this woman side by side all night. how long do i have to wait for HR to take action? im seriously having fantasies about going postal on this woman. im looking for another job but havent found one yet. i feel so trapped. ive written a letter of complaint to the labor board. i havent mailed it yet. i was hoping HR would of resolved the problem. we are a small company its not like corporate america or anything. ive been documenting the abuse sense july 2 when i filed the complaint. shes done it 4 times so far. she doesnt let up on me until a tear falls. should i keep waiting for HR or mail the letter. or should i tell HR im going to mail the letter. i'll take any advice

Go back to HR and ask them where the complaint stands as you are still being harassed by her. If they do not respond to you within a week or so you need to file a complaint of this with the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) as they are the government agency who handles this type of issue. (Don't mail a letter to the labor board as it will not get handled) This is if you are in the U.S.
Don't threaten HR that you're going to mail the letter, just let them know that you filed the complaint 2 weeks ago and do not see any kind of resolution to the problem and want to know where it stands. Wait to hear what they say first, if the answer is "????" then just go and file the complaint with the EEOC and let them (the EEOC) know what dates you met with HR and what was reported to them. |

You said you're with a small company. Can you go higher than HR? Do you have a way to contact the president of the company? If your supervisor and HR are dragging their feet, you need to contact their boss. Keep documenting. I don't know where you live but in America, I believe it's the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission who handles these complaints. If you've contacted everyone you can and you still aren't getting results, contact the EEOC. I believe you can file a complaint on their website. |

Go to HR and tell them that the situation has yet to be resolved. Seeing as how as you said, this is a small company, what's the hold up? Tell them of your intentions to sendthe letter or file a claim. |

ok - i am guessing you are from australia... i do not know exactly what to do if you are American.
Try your local member of parliament - your local government representative. Telephone their department and start to complain - ask for help. Also, possibly telephone the police and have a restraining order placed against her. I dont know how that would work - but seriously try and do something.
Definitely try to contact your local government representative. You will be surprised how much their department will help you. In Australia, they pay special attention in sorting out ordinary peoples problems, from pension troubles through to broken roads. |
