Apply yourself to school - i found that it exponentially benefits you. the more you put into it now, the more you'll reap the rewards later.
If you'd like to get some experience, why don't you try researching internship opportunities in your area or perhaps shadowing a private practicioner.
Keep an open mind about your options! Good luck! |

Read, read, read as well as write. When you are a lawyer, that is all you do everyday, read and write. Concentrate on English and when you go to college, under grad, major in English, you will never regret it! |

There are a lot of lawyers out there these days, so if you want a good career you should think about specializing in a field of law with high demand. I disagree about majoring in English. Study a field that will not be so common. For example, lawyers with science and engineering degrees are in high demand to help clients with complex technical disputes, such as trade secret theft or patent issues. Lawyers with accounting degrees can work in defending or investigating financial crimes. Etc. etc. You want to have a good mix of skills. |

I work with lawyers and the one thing they do is educate themselves each and every day. It is important because the law changes very frequently. You need to consider taking the right courses in high school and college to prepare yourself for law school. Talk to your guidance counselor and make sure he or she knows what your intentions are now. If there are courses such as public speaking etc. you need to make sure to sign up for those course now. Good luck! |
