Overtime Pay/Compensation in N.C.?

If I am a salaried-exempt employee in NC, I do not receive overtime pay for hours worked over than 40 in any given work week. However, if I am scheduled to come in and work on the weekend, I will receive overtime for those hours only -(even though I work more than 40 hours Mon-Fri). Is this right? If we aren't paid, shouldn't we be granted comp time for the hours worked over 40 during the week?

If you are legally salaried/exempt, there is no requirement for your employer to compensate you with pay OR comp time, even if you are scheduled to work extra. Some employers would give comp time, but they don't have to. |

I would be happy to get paid for hours i worked over 40 at anytime even at normal pay. Count yourself lucky that you get paid at all. I work over 40 hours a week every week and where i work we get paid no time at all and no comp time. |
