It depends on what you like to do. As a paralegal plan to spend lots of time doing alot of reading, writing and research. There are different types of law that you can go into, i.e. litigation (court) or transactional (contracts) and each type has its own set of procedures.
The pay varies depending on your geographical location. Coastal states such as CA, NY and FL rank among the highest paying states. The typical range in these states are from about $30K to well over $100K per year depending on experience. |

I am a Litigation Paralegal for a major energy corporation and have been in the legal field for over seven years. It is a great field that can be highly rewarding - both financially and personally.
I would suggest that you receive your Associates degree in Paralegal Studies from an ABA approved program and then go on to receive a Bachelors degree in your chosen field. The more education the better the pay!
Pay varies by geographic location and field. Entry level Paralegals tend to earn around $30,000 in most locations with earnining into the $100,000 range for large firms and corporations. Keep in mind that the more you earn, the more responsibility you will have - thus more experience will be required.
