Past misdemeanor affecting employment?

Anyone have insight on getting hired for medical sales position or financial services position with 2 past misdemeanors in 1997,1998 for false id to purchase alcohol ans drug paraphernalia(cigarette rolling papers)? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Being that your crimes are over 10 years old and not felonies, most likely most institutions do not go back 10 years. Apply yourself and find out.

Misdemeanors are not felonies. Companies need to look at felonies and only look at 10 years nothing more than that. If they are they are discriminating

First, you can always consider doing an application and seeing whether the older convictions are found during the search. My hunch is that most misdemeanor convictions will be located if jail was imposed or stayed as part of the sentence. You may consider moving the court where you were convicted for an expungement of your criminal history based upon your behavior since the convictions and your law abiding conduct. Get the court to seal the files and convictions and the reports at the state data base. Contact the court where you were convicted for self-help forms on expungement or see about getting an attorney to help you. Best of luck.
