Personal documents for employment question?

I applied for a job and the employer asked for a background check, mvr (7 year driving record), medical records, tb test, copies of ssn card, id (passport), car insurance and cpr & first aid certification. I need to know IF I can get all these documents back if I do not get the job. Normally, all these docs are requested AFTER they offer you a job.
Please no insults. Thank you.

It's a position in a hospice so I get the need for the medical records etc. I met with the administrator and she's not very organized with all the hr paperwork (mine and everyone else's that I saw lying around) so I am bit leery about leaving all my personal info there if I do or don't get the job. Identity theft is SCARY :0(

Goodness, what kind of job are you applying for? Don't sweat the background check..they are just looking for any criminal record (I had one done in January). If you don't have any major violations on your MVR you don't have to worry about that either. The copy of the SSN card and/or drivers license is necessary for the employers I9 to prove you can work in this country.

I would think that if you simply ask for these records back if you don't get the job, that the potential employer would comply with your request.

Good luck!
