i have a question , i have a family member in need of a job, but he has a criminal record. what kind of job can he go and apply at ?????

A lot of companies don't even do background checks. Also, many times a criminal conviction doesn't show up on a background check. Some do and some don't.

Millions and millions of people have criminal records in the United States. Many of these people have jobs.

Find job openings that your friend is interested in and he should apply. The more jobs you apply to the more likely you are to get a job. I know convicted felons who have damn good jobs. One of my friends is a convicted felon and she lost her license to practice law. She was open with everyone about her criminal conviction and she was able to get a job. It's not the end of the world. You just have to keep trying.

It also helps if you live in a city that has a very low unemployment rate. If the unemployment rate is high it is hard for everyone to get a job.

The lower paying fast food and retail jobs always need employees. In most cities they will hire just about anyone.

Depends on what he wants to do and what his criminal record is. Most labour jobs aren't strict about the crime record.
Job agencies should be able to advice on this.

He can apply at any job, but it is up to the employer on whether to hire him.
He needs to be honest with the employer about his criminal record and if possible add it to his app. or resume.
Some employers appreciate the honesty.

He must be honest when filling out the application. Companies do check this out. It's so cheap now. Many corporations will overlook a mistake when someone was younger (if they're sorry) but they absolutely WILL NOT overlook dishonesty about it on an application.
