telling the truth but its not really the truth it monitors its like your heartbeat and stuff and sometimes im asked any normal question my heart beat goes faster and ive always had a fast paced heartbeat got it checked out a few times and it was all clear

im not sure if all fire departments in new york require it though

When you take a polygraph test, the examiner first asks you some normal questions. He might ask you what you had for lunch for instance. That way he will be able to measure your normal response reaction.
If you are a very sensitive person, this will be factored in. So don't worry. |

First of all,there is no such thing as a lie detector,it just monitors reactions to questions and is subject to interpretation by the examiner.
It is possible for the examiner to ask a question that triggers an emotional response that give a lie indication.
Except for certain jobs,a person can refuse to take a polygraph test.
Law enforcement is turning to body language because people do certain things when being questioned,but it to is subject to human interpretation. |
