Pros:
*very good salary once you graduate from law school and pass the bar
*jobs are plentiful
*you can specialize in certain areas of law or move up in your career (i.e. partner of a lawfirm, district attorney, US attorney, judge, politician)
*you have an opportunity to help those who cannot help themselves thru the justice system
*despite the stereotypes of attorneys, it is a well-respected career
cons:
*you will definitely work long hours especially when a big trial is coming up
*develop a lot of stress (you want to win your case for your client and the lawfirm you work for)
*friends/family will always turn to you for free legal advice
*you may defend a lot of unscrupulous people |
