I went to a Labor Dept today and filled out an application.. there were 8 other people there. Well with our regular application we got a "new hire" packet, about 40 pages of forms to fill out (I-9, backgrounds, handbook, etc).. well after we filled out the regular application a guy briefly interviewed us.. During my interview he asked how far it was a drive to the location and I said "40 minutes" And he asked if I had any problems getting there and I said "no".. well he looks up at the other HR lady and says.. "I'm gonna call you at this number, we need to do your background check.." I asked him about the "new hire" packet and he said to take it with me. Well as I left the building, the 7 other people were sitting there filling out the new hire packets, he instructed them to go fill them out but told me to bring mine home? WTH?
