Quick interview questions?

I had an (Great) interview last Thursday for a receptionist position at a law firm. I want this position extremely bad & my interviewer said she would give me a call Tuesday or Wednesday. She did not call me today so if she DOES NOT call tomorrow I wanted to give her a follow up call to show her I am definatley still interested. So......

(1) Should I call her Wednesday late afternoon or Thursday to follow up on my interview?

(2) What exatly do I say when following up on an interview (I have never done this before)?
Additional Details
I WROTE A THANK YOU EMAIL THE SAME DAY OF THE INTERVIEW LATER THAT EVENING.

Call her Thursday afternoon.
Introduce yourself and state the date of interview.
Then you could say "I haven't heard back from you after that. So I was just wondering whether I am in or not".
Even if she says you are not selected, be polite and thank her for giving you her time. She might be testing you and your politeness could win it back. All the Best :)

Call on Thursday morning but between 10 and 11 am. If you call before then, they most likely will not have time or will be extremely annoyed. If you call later it could be misintepreted that you are a late riser, you had prior engagements, or you may just miss them for lunch. When you call, just say you were following up to see if they had made a selection for the position. Most likely they will call you either way on Wednesday. Good luck on the new job..............

Call Thursday. Tell her thank you again for the interview, that you're really interested in the job, and that you hope you're being considered. Ask if there's anything you can do to affect their decision, such as supplying references. In the meantime, did you write a thank you note?

Why not consider sending simple 'thank you' mail to the interviewer. You can also show keen interest in working for them without sounding 'too desperate'

You can also call once just chek the status and if it is filled up with someone just thank them for giving an opportunity.
