Quitting job... need an excuse for no unemployment.?

In most cases if you get fired you are not eligible for unemployment so you won't need a reason. I would think they would be more disappointed in you for getting fired? Why don't you find a new job before you quit the current one that way your parents are still happy, you are earning your own money and everyone is happy.

Why are you quitting? If you are quitting because you feel forced out of your actual job that you are in, you can collect UI in some places. However it's bloody hard to prove.

Why? It's hard to prove because you have to allow your employer a chance (usually up to 3 over so many months) to fix the problem. If they still have not, you can quit & take your proof that you have (emails, recorded voicemails, journals of record (where you have copied down issues that have occcured on certain times and dates along with what happened, who witnessed the issue, etc).

Usually they are cases that come with harassment of various kinds but not always. Sometimes they are also cases of people who have too much work and not enough time to do it & lots of harassment from the boss to get it done, etc, etc.

However, if you're simply not happy with your job & you want to quit--I suppose why are you hoping your parents should help you out? Are you still living at home? Are you below the legal age limit? (Under 18/19 yrs?).

Why not--if it's simply an issue of not liking your job, find a hobby to take your mind of your work so you have something to look forward to when you get off work. That is what many adults do when they hate their jobs.

ANother option is to find ANOTHER job while working. Many people have dentist appointments, doctor's appointments for those interviews that they need to take while working.

If it's a scheduling issue because you're in school and you need to work for spending money etc? Why not find ways to not need as much & then approach your parents with a "plan of action". I know that sounds silly. I got it (idea) from my cousin who's in business.

I needed a few hundred a month for partying, toilitries, long-distance, etc while in school so I needed a job that was 12-15 hours a week. SOme weeks it was hard to work & do school & do school well!

He & I were talking on the phone & a "plan of action" is where you take all the money you make from job & put it at the top of the paper:

Like $400 (for example) & then 2 columns: 1 is NEED & the other is "want".

Wants were: 1 case of beer a month, needs--I wanted to go out with friends 1x a week, so I was able to comprimise to 1-2 beer per time.
(again just an example).

I could eat at home, so that cut out $20 for food each time

Wants included: Food I ate out but could eat at home if I had more time, long-distance to call parents because "I"m never home"--so this time I said "let's make a date such as 5pm on Sundays" I'll be home--you can call me--on their dime.

Needs: Toilitries: You maybe can do without the $15 bottle of shampoo (if that is you?) & go to to the $3-4 bottle.

My pt is, you don't need to create a fight with your parents most likely.

Chances are there is a way that you can both "win".
