What is the law regarding wording of adverts for recruitment?
I notice in the local paper today that the NHS and a private firm are asking people to download the application form and apply via email. Is this not discriminating against those with no access to a pc, and older people? The ads have no tel contact and no address, so anyone without a pc will have problems. Anyone know the law on this?

as you obviously have access to the internet you can still apply !
every person has acces to a pc, they are in the libraries. its not discrimination, we have to move with technology or get left behind!
and to be honest, if people dont have access to a pc, they will never see the advert in the first place. The jobs that are vacant, probably require pc literate people too! |

There's no law. If you have no access to a pc - in other words, if you can't get to a local library - you aren't going to be able to get to work.
If you aren't computer literate, you're not going to qualify for the job.
It's a screening tool, to weed out people unable to problem solve, or unable to work on a computer. |

No, it is not discrimination. Not owning a computer is not a protected class in regards to employment
No more discriminatory that requiring a perspective employee to buy a uniform or provide their own transportation to work.
If the company does not list their name or at minimum, the full name of the headhunter service, those ads are usually bogus and the jobs don't really exist. |
