relocating out of fl to tx end of december, have kid with ex boyfriend, does not have relationship with my son, never married, never went to court for custody so no visitation matters, he is paying childsupport finally but i cannot afford a lawyer. wondering if they offer intent to relocate sample letters and other paperwork that follows if he doesnt reply withing the 30 days. i am trying to do this right and filed a motion asking to relocate but after sending him copies certified mail, he never responded withing the 30 days so now im lost. Whats to do next? lease is up in 10 weeks and going to leave with my son. I don't want to get sent back when i start a new life somewhere else..

At some point after you and your child live in Texas, Texas can acquire jurisdiction over the parent-child relationship. When you get to Texas, there are some sources of free and low-cost legal advice. Please check into them.
